The Boys in Blue left Georgetown at 5.00am in the dark and were greeted by plenty of roos on the road.  Nick did a radio interview with Macca All Over early in the morning just to make sure that all of Oz knows about prostate cancer and that the HOSTPLUS Pedal 4 Prostate teams are powering along Highway One in very high spirits and with huge courage.

It was a hot day, with the Garmin showing 41.5 degrees in the early afternoon. The lads encountered their first road train which all went smoothly thanks to Graham and Rini, the Caribou back markers, who have been doing a fantastic job talking to the truckies and making it safe for all. Graham and Rini are amazed at the well-oiled machine of Blue Team and can't believe how seamlessly they change riders and just get on with the job.

A few stories to share along the way:
  • Simon and Shippers, newbies to the outback, are amazed at the roos, wildlife and changing landscape
  • While driving to his changeover point, Dave was lying on the back seat snoring - and John had to wake him up with a smooch on the forehead
  • John nearly collected an emu and the Territory pulled up quickly without a wimper; he is very impressed with the vehicle
  • The best part of the day for Normie? His  favourite stubby at the end of the day ('favourite stubby' = any cold beer)
