On October 31, 2010 the Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) Cycling Club will set out from the Victorian Governor's residence to relay ride 15000 km non-stop around Australia in 25 days. With endorsement of the MFB and the E.J. Whitten Foundation, this major event will raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer and promote men's health and well being in communities across Australia.
The key pathway for the HostPlus Pedal for Prostate is Highway 1, Australia's greatest highway which predominantly follows the coast on a circumferential route around the country. Along this exciting route we will experience deserts, forests, tropicals, cities and suburbia.
Throughout our travels the team will engage individuals, community groups, cycling clubs and emergency service personnel across the country. Progress can be tracked through this website to ensure everyone can chart our progress as we spend 25 challenging days travelling around this magnificent country.
